The injuries you describe basically sound career-ending, and like there is a chance he won’t walk again.

 

The next time he walks on a course, if he walks, will be non-playing captain of the 2023 Ryder Cup team.

 

There is only so much to say/write about it.

 

He'll walk again, barring some sort of devastating complications. I'd be amazed if he ever played competitive golf again, between his legs and his back.

 

I cannot imagine his back injuries not getting severely aggravated in a wreck that bad.

 

Basically that the ankle's bone structure is liquified. The comparison to Eric Gregg's ankle "turning to sand" upthread is apt. Thank goodness that Eldrick doesn't have to carry around Gregg's weight around. Carrying his own around given the leg injuries is going to be difficult enough for the time being.

 

Maybe he will be permitted to use a cart.

 

Ha. Like to see the justification for Tiger using a cart by all of all those traditionalists who said Casey Martin using a cart would ruin the game.
