Like the rise in available vaccines gives us a view of the finish line for strict precautions against Covid infections? Sort of like how we should not stop running just because we've crested the last hill and can now see the finish line to end the marathon?

We should be thinking of this like a marathon. We have earned the first 25.8 miles, but we have to make the final push now. Often, the final push is the toughest part of the race.

Beats me. I always stop running after four miles.

We need to be thinking about this like a child eating his vegetables. “Cleaning your plate” does not mean leaving a Brussels sprout or two on the plate. There are children starving in India.

In fact, we need to be thinking about this virus a bit like we do “taking a shit.” Sure, 95 percent of your colon may be cleared. But that last 5 percent puts you at risk for an embarrassing office accident. When it comes to COVID 19, we need to be thinking of it as we do the last big push to squeeze the last bit of fences out of our “anuses.”

    Grunt if it helps.

Outing alert: Jerry-atric is Vombatus. Seems like a post he would make.

If we can get the stimulus checks to millions by end of Month, can't we get the vaccine out at least the same? (Just asking for a friend)

Those rites and rituals are important. We have always needed them. I've seen denial of these gestures weaponized. Whether it is by misadventure or design, you are right, it is cruel.

You know I like you and the Missus, right?

    Dude. Stop.

Somebody musta slipped something in your burgoo. Yes, I am playing with you.

Learned this weekend that a friend/acquaintance for 30+ yrs (early 50s now) died from COVID after getting it (husband got it too) at a party. Relatively healthy mom. Leaves two kids early 20s. Stay vigilant.

It “strikes” me in these cases to think about how horrible it must feel to make it this close to the finish line after a year of this situation and then contract a fatal case of COVID 19.
