Well, of course not, and if the school did base their decisions on someone's column, they should be fired for stupidity.

The same colleges that give kids a scholarship based solely on a feature in the Podunk Gazette.

Dennis Dodd of CBS threw out five names for the KU AD's job. Among them: the brand-new guy at UCF and NC State's Boo Corrigan.
Who in his or her right mind would take that gig? Football is overwhelmed, and basketball is awaiting NCAA punishment, but you can't whack Bill Self, who answers to nobody.
Guessing the Corrigan reference is a trial balloon floated by his agent. Speculation is that he'd be able to bring the coach at Army, whom he hired at West Point, to Lawrence. But I still wonder why that would be a good move. The unspoken and biggest issue: What happens to KU if another round of conference realignment goes down?

I used this quote as a joke to a kid at work who is about 22 and he just stared blankly at me. I’m now officially old.

Cannot see it. Not only was Boo's father, Gene, the former commissioner of the ACC, but also how is Kansas going to make it worth his while to pull up stakes so quickly?

Corrigan has not been in Raleigh long. Surely, the ACCN money allows NCSU to make sure that Corrigan does not feel underpaid.

Between this and Wade and the rapes coverup LSU has suffered exactly zero serious punishment.

Same for the Syracuse and North Carolina fake grades scandals.

Not enough bad things can happen to the NCAA leadership.

Football drives the bus on that, and KU's sucks balls and has for years. Kansas football isn't going to pull many eyeballs, and studly basketball isn't enough on it's own. I figure that they get left twisting in the wind, far lower down the food chain than they expect to be. Kentucky is somewhat similar but they have deep roots in the SEC and aren't going to be moving, same with Duke and the ACC, and football at both is in a far better place than at KU.

I have said for years that my school should egregiously cheat, like on a studio wrestling level, hand out cars on the sidelines after a big play type shit. Then, when the NCAA sanctions them, sue their ever loving asses off to the point that Mark Emmert leaves the courthouse wearing a barrel. You have plenty of case law that shows they coddle the name brands while hammering the small guy. It should be a slam dunk case.
