It's hard to see Bam Bam blowing up badly enough to let this slip away. But Thomas and Rahm are lurking.

EDIT: TigerVols beat me to it by seconds!

TPC Sawgrass is a course where any of the contenders who has a day where they hit a lot of fairways can post an unreal number to take the win. DeChambeau can certainly do that, but I heard one broadcaster say yesterday he didn't miss a putt under 20 feet in his third round. That's tough to duplicate. If he can, of course he'll win.

Somebody just replaced Bam Bam and Westwood with two weekend hackers.

DeChambeau: Topped one into the water off the tee.
Westwood: Huge slice into the drink.
DeChambeau: Whacks one down some cartpath way right.

Got to play Sawgrass once. Felt it on all those shots. And smiled.

It's like watching the Tin Man rust. Somebody rush out and get some WD 40.

Westwood doing his best to lose this before the turn. And yet, still has the same lead he started with.

Thomas went five under par on holes 9-12. That ought to do it if he doesn't dunk one somewhere.

Mr, DeChambeau lost the tournament on the poor tee shot. Mr. Westwood lost it on the shot into the fairway bunker on 16.

And Thomas came about eight inches from losing it with his tee shot on 18. The pros and commentators don't discuss it too often, but the insane ability level on the PGA Tour and the nature of the sport itself mean random chance plays a huge role in determining winners and losers.

I wonder how many times out of 10 a ball hit that close to the bank catches a different patch of ground and is redirected into the water.

Alan Shipnuck moving on after a long long run with SI/Golf.com, starting a new platform with Matt Ginella.

Will be interesting to see how it does. They both have experience and connections, but I suspect NLU has sucked up a lot of the available oxygen.
