Why didn't the Bears just re-up with Trubisky?

Maybe he wanted to get away from Chicago? There's probably a team out there willing to just look at the numbers and give him a shot at the starter's job. Or, some QB Guru who thinks he can "fix" the guy.

Incentive laden contract similar to Cam Newton's.

Well...what starting jobs are still open?

Yeah, that's what I meant. He's there in case Watson holds out deep into the season, in which case Taylor makes the dough. I just don't see how the Texans can trade Watson. If the Seahawks wouldn't take three firsts, a third and two starters for Wilson, there's no other team in the league with the capital to acquire Watson.

I get that crap lawsuits are filed all the time, and the first one against Deshaun Watson seemed somewhat open to being dismissed but the second one now which alleges he flew the masseuse in from Atlanta to Houston is troubling because who flies a masseuse in from that far away? If so, there had better be an established relationship somewhere (either preexisting or someone else is vouching for that person). Now there's allegedly four allegations? Yikes.

In a sexual harassment training a few years back (to the whole firm, not just me) the seasoned attorney said the vast majority of harassment cases arises within the first 90 days of when the two people become acquainted. Think about that rule of thumb.

Some of us saw this coming more than a month ago.

The Jets do. The Panthers might.

Jets, IIRC, have four first-round picks over the next couple of drafts. Panthers don't have that level of draft capital, but if rumors are to be believed, Carolina might offer Christian McCaffrey and two firsts for starters.

A running back on an expensive contract and two firsts isn’t nearly enough. Add another first, another starter and more picks and they might be in the ballpark.

We'll see. Note "for starters" – never proclaimed that two firsts and a good back would make the Texans happy under dire circumstances.

It would be nice, though, if the team would get the quarterback situation straightened out. Bad business to shop Teddy Bridgewater to Detroit, then tried to tell him that he's still their guy ... until they acquire Deshaun Watson in a deal.

The advertisement vs. reality. You see Russell and Watson - you get Fitzpatrick and Dalton. Cruel.
