America ca. '68 in a nutshell: New York elitism v. Alabama tribalism.

There's some really good stuff if you can be patient thru the constant jibber jabber.

Yet somehow in 2016, the candidate who lived his whole life in NY elitism was seen as the Alabama savior instead of the candidate who grew up next door in Ark (of course her father was a lawyer (right?)).

The fun story would be to find the boy who dropped the cruet on the marble, and it broke, and he said the S-word that made all in the church laugh.

    Where is he today?

So I’m watching this show in HBO Max that’s a crime drama about some guy who takes a woman out on a homemade sub and she dies. It’s a true story.

I’m four hours in and I have not even seen a picture of her or the guy that might have killed her. It moves at a snails pace with almost no dialogue.

    And it’s amazing.

Started "Kim's Convenience" last night. Another good call here. Same style of humor as in "Schitt's Creek."

Really enjoying 68 Whiskey on Paramount Plus. A great one-year "spacer" type binge of just 10 eps (didn't get a second year) between bigger investments of time. It was well-reviewed when it premiered, but I wonder if the audience that sought it out wasn't amused by our troops being shown doing drug deals, stealing stuff, coloring outside the lines (all for the greater good of course). I liked FX's "Over There" as well which covered some of the same turf.

Just finished Perry Mason on HBO. Really enjoyed. Great reproductions of Depression-era Los Angeles, with neat sunbaked cinematography.

Tatiana Maslany is always great and Rhys and Chalk were solid.

As a fan of Boardwalk Empire, it was cool to see a lot of the same actors.

    Can't wait for season 2.

I just finished the first season of Imposters 0n Netflix (originally on Bravo) and enjoyed it very much. It's the story of a con woman who marries people and then steals their money and disappears, on to the next mark. It has some nice plot twists and "oh shit" moments.

It two seasons and 20 episodes. I'll probably knock off the second season over the weekend.
