That was my freshman year in high school and back in the time when games were mostly regionalized on CBS, so that was an English class special. Still scarred by that one.

Avery Johnson gets to do color commentary on the Norfolk State team that ended his college coaching career.

Sun Belt's 5th or 6th-best team won the conference tournament and the auto bid. And it shows. Don't these leagues realize they're costing themselves money in potential units when they don't send their best teams?

"When the Sun Belt sends us teams, it's not sending us their best. They're bringing 0-for-18 3-point shooting, they're bringing silly turnovers, they're bringing disinterested transition defense."

Drake went to the Final Four in 1969 and almost beat UCLA in the semifinals. I remember Willie McCarter, he was a stud.

Drake lost to Kansas by two points in a regional final in 1971.

It could have been to two Final Fours in three years. Then it disappeared.

Sure looked like an over-and-back on that steal that kept WSU in the game in the final seconds.

Did I miss the meeting that decided Mackey Arena was to be treated with the reverence of the Hagia Sophia?

After going 0-for-18 from downtown in the first half, Appalachian State has taken the lead on Norfolk State.
And now the Spartans are back up 52-51.

One of the most disappointing things about becoming a sportswriter was having all the places you venerated as a child completely destroyed when being there in real life.

Wrigley reeks of urine. Ohio Stadium is a Soviet war memorial, I’m convinced. Churchill Downs looks like something a three-year would design.

MSU just had a possession in which they botched an in-rhythm corner three because the guy straight up dropped the pass, resulting in a shot clock violation, which sums up the season effectively.
