And the treatment of women amateur collegiate athletes remains 2nd class to male amateur athletes. The usual media suspects are outraged. The journalists made note yesterday. Attention Deficit Journalist Disorder firmly in place. Mark Emmert drinking and eating and golfing on the backs of free labor. Not a story.

The NCAA provides no payouts to women — at all. It refuses to factor the women into any revenue-sharing.

It’s almost as though one hot streak in the Big East tournament doesn’t erase an entrenched talent gap.

How sad that the talent gap between Georgetown and Colorado favors Colorado.

Talent, yeah, but Georgetown's defense is terrible. They're leaving gaps all over the court. I think I could get open against Georgetown.

I mean it looks bad but I'm not sure I'd blame Georgetown for this any more than the Organas for Alderaan. Buffs are just nuking them from space at this point.

Now I know why Syracuse is such a tasty pick

What makes it sad? Colorado has posted a better record than Georgetown six years in a row and has been the superior program for a decade.

Colorado also has three seniors and two juniors in its starting lineup. The team is tailored to do well in a tournament that caps a chaotic year (or any recent year, since experience is a primary factor in determining who makes deep runs).

There was a single play-in game each year from 2001 through 2010. TNN had the 2001 game; the 2002-10 games aired on ESPN.

Glad the Gauchos made it. And USC but the Trojans will probably lose to Drake by 23.

The states of Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina have been eliminated from the tournament with an 0-5 record.
