This subset of professional athletes, which exists in every sport, has always fascinated me. Guys good enough to draw a paycheck at the top level of their sport, but also not good enough to stay in one place for very long. I know "journeyman" has been used to describe such folks for much longer than I've been alive, but with the money in pro sports today, such a career is phenomenally successful by the standards of the real working world. And I wonder if the fact lifetime employment at one business, small or large, has become a rarity has caused fans to see such athletes in a kinder light.

The Tigers had Octavio Dotel and Edwin Jackson (twice) and both considered it a badge of honor so many teams wanted them for so long

It's quite possible Ryan Fitzpatrick has to date earned more money than any other member of the Harvard Class of '05.

Wade said as much the other night when talking about Jordan Clarkson.

“If I could come back again in the NBA, I want to be Jordan Clarkson. I don’t want to be a superstar because I want to keep my knees good and all that,” said Wade on NBA on TNT. “I want to be Jordan Clarkson: come off the bench, shoot it anytime I want, ultra-green light, dress fly as hell, just go home after and chill.”

The Heat’s priority here was getting rid of Meyers Leonard, who won’t be a part of the Thunder’s roster and will not report to Oklahoma City. The Thunder will also decline his option year. Ariza will probably get minutes.

Yeah, that deal is a second rounder for Ariza. Ariza never set foot in Oklahoma City and neither will Leonard, whose agent is probably gauging interest among European clubs right now.

Wizards beat Jazz. Jazz made more 3s (18) than the Wiz attempted (17).
But the Wiz made more free throws (30) than the Jazz attempted (28)
