And they played that final in Dayton (easier travel to Indy) after splitting the earlier rounds between the two Richmond schools.

Maybe. But Virginia had COVID issues, was the last team to arrive in Indianapolis as a result and, by Tony Bennett's standard, this team doesn't defend fractionally as well as it has in recent seasons.

And yeah, it might be maddening from a certain point of view. But how frustrating do you think it was for the folks in Charlottesville to come up without a national title during Ralph Sampson's time there? While they went to the Final Four the season after he left (Olden Polynice!), they didn't get to do anything about that situation for a long time (though Bryant Stith and Cory Alexander tried). In summary, they'll trade the couple of early tournament eliminations for the national title.

Now ... here's where the type of testing done for the men vs. the women could make for a big problem.

To the best of what I've read, the tests issued to the women have a much higher probability of false positives. Erring on the side of caution, will a women's team have too many positive tests, contract tracing, etc. ... only to find out that most, if not all, of the positives were false? Could this have been reduced greatly, if not eliminated altogether, if the women had the same type of tests as the men?

Can't wait for Mark Emmert and his merry band of money-grubbing, chauvinistic idiots to explain this one.

For all the Who He Play For? bits, this kind of unfiltered stuff is why Chuck sits in that seat.

I know Chuck has no idea what he's talking about during these games and I also know that doesn't matter to me.

Exactly. Chuck does a fantastic job of filling the role of "commentator I'd just want to shoot the shit with" during the game. If they let him cuss, I'd pay a couple bucks to overlay the audio from the studio over some of the commentators.
