If the foul had been on the initial shot, Pleasant wouldn't have been the one shooting the free throws.

Bad coaches outnumber good coaches by a ratio of about 30:1 on sj.com.

My two teams provide their fair share of overpaid, shitty coaches.
I would gladly swap Martin or Barnes for Tony Bennett.

My future lottery pick gets hurt...

My team arrived 27 seconds to a tourney site before the game...

Bennett seems to run a clean program and his players are not idiots. He won a national title. Show me all the four and five star recruits on the UVA roster...

UVA can keep him and have a very good to great basketball program for the next three decades or they can knee jerk.

And I said he was a good-to-great coach. I like the guy a lot. But he's also lost a lot of games that are absolute head-scratchers, against teams he has no business losing to. And for all its brilliance in the MAC tournament, Ohio U. took fifth place in the regular season. Fifth place. A top-level ACC team should bury a 5th-place MAC team.

And he doesn't win that NC if the referees somehow don't miss a routine double-dribble call.

He's a very likeable guy. He's brought Virginia - which was very good in the 1980s - back to that standard. If he was my coach, I'd be happy. But that doesn't change losing to UMBC, Ohio and several others I've long since forgotten.

OU was very inconsistent this year. They looked like a damn good team when they almost beat Illinois in November, losing by two. But then they were erratic. This late season run is not that much of surprise. I thought they might have a let down in the MAC tournament, but they've sustained their efficiency.

Virginia got into town friday night, and could only practice last week via zoom. And Ohio beat the 1 and 2 seeds last week, when it actually counted.
So Bennet's not a perfect coach. Like every single other college basketball coach.

    Got it.

Jogged over to the sports department to watch the play on someone's computer screen. Apparently my referee skills aren't great from 1,800 miles away! :)

Watched a replay of the end of Abilene Christian last night. The "mouth herpes" revelation on this thread completely ruined the game for me. I was totally distracted.
