I guess you're right about that. What point?

Without any clarification, your post was a misrepresentation of that article, which had people responding to it as if you wrote it -- and supposedly it was for some legitimate reason?

Whether someone read the essay or not would not have depended on whether they had any preconceived notions. All that was needed was interest and engagement.

What part of this do you not understand?

Read the full essay by Rebecca Kuss in today's Alma: https://www.heyalma.com/asian-jews-are-suffering-we-need.../

If you responded to the post thinking I wrote the piece because of the first 3 paragraphs, but didn't pay attention to the 4th paragraph leading you to the actual author of the piece, then you're a shitty reader and are now doubling down by arguing a manufactured nothingburger even more shittily.

Maybe this dude can explain it to you.

There are few groups of people with a common identity who are separated by so much. Being Jewish is both a religion and a culture. Some object to you rejecting the religion. Some oppose you rejecting the culture. And it’s not whether you do, it’s how you’re perceived. Also there isn’t a religion that is less desirous of having converts. You're either one of us or you’re not. And with a history of pain and persecution and discrimination spanning the globe for 2,000 years, some are bothered by people now opting out.
And as anybody with a stereotypical Jewish mother can tell you, there’s no pleasing some people.

I don't think Songbird has ever given even the slightest impression he's a woman named Rebecca. Dude's a pretty open book.

I know who you are and I was thrown off for a minute.

Why should she know you would say look what I wrote?

Had I not known what Songbird looked like because of a photo he once posted on the other site, I would have been thrown off.

This is a bridge too far.

I'd rather know if Rebecca Kuss the Korean Jew ever found the afikomen and if she did what was her reward.

And you are being more of a jerk than I ever thought you were.

If you read my post responding to the essay, it would be clear that I, quite obviously, got to the fourth paragraph, actually opened the link, and read the thing through in its entirety. I asked very specific, pertinent, interested questions that show, also clearly, that I wasn't going in with any of the "preconceived notions," that you claimed to want us to not have, and I wanted to expand on discussion. And I wasn't the only one who responded as if you'd written it. The posts of Elliotte Friedman and hey abbott read the same way.

So, quit trying to make it seem as if my point was not legitimate.

I no longer care about yours, whatever it was.
