1976 had to be a wild ride at Rutgers. Went to the Final Four that spring, then undefeated in football but didn’t get a bowl bid despite no probation. (They did play what would now be considered a hybrid FBS-FCS schedule.)

Is Kevin Harlan deep in debt to the athletic trainers lobby?

Singing their praises while the camera shows a trainer with no glove on one hand, and a plastic glove haphazardly, half on his other hand, while treating a wound.

About as effective as mask around your chin.

It was like the second time since the under-4 timeout he reminded us it was national athletic trainers month. Like he had a glitch after someone dropped him on the curb.

There were only 12 bowl games at the end of the 1976 season.

Maybe it’s time to go back to that.

There's gonna be a December baby boom among ORU students. Book it.

Three seconds of TV fame? Now I remember why I do four newscasts a day.

What a joke for Syracuse fans — their game tips off at 9:55 eastern on Saturday

In a game played in their own time zone.

If a guy has to leave a game because he's bleeding, he should be subbed for. Icing a guy at the foul line while somebody on the other team gets his arm patched up shouldn't happen. You bleed, you get patched up on the bench, the game continues.

That's about all I've got. I'm in total shock. The Beavers have won eight road games in a row: at Utah, at Cal, at Stanford, vs. UCLA, vs. Oregon, vs. Colorado in Vegas and vs. Tennessee and vs. Okie State in Indianapolis. They haven't been in Corvallis since March 9.

I think both Loyola and OSU are happy with this matchup in a Sweet 16 game. Let's be honest, neither expected to be there; certainly no one expected either of them to be there, much less both of them.

Upsets make the tournament. This is the best tournament in recent memory, and just what a Covid-fatigued country needed.
