2021 NHL regular season thread

I no longer watch the NHL because I became exhausted watching officials insert themselves into games for no reason night after night. This Tim Peel incident proves that it happens.

 

This isn’t new. It’s gone on forever.

 

This is the shittiest Preds team in years, so I can't imagine blowing up my career to get even with them.

 

“put the whistles away, don’t want the refs deciding the games” sums up the hockey idiocy.

I recently heard someone (might have been Kerry Fraser) praising the brilliance of a ref who called zero penalties in a critical game 7.

 

I think most refs, umpires, etc. like to make it about themselves.

 

Matt Duchesne is 100% right here. Penalties are not supposed to even out.

 

And by putting the whistles away they do decide games.

 

I knew that as a 12 year old. Just bizarre “logic”.

 

I thought Holtby's long stay in D.C. was why he had that malady.

 

Disagree. The great majority do not want to make it about themselves. Because of what happened to Tim Peel.

 

Ducks TV play-by-play announcer John Ahlers has a strong belief that the penalties will even-up every game. And he says it midway through the third period continually. "Well, the penalties are 3-2 right now, so keep an eye out for another penalty soon to even them up."

 

And that’s the archaic attitude in the league office and their puppet media.
