So, Gregg Marshall back to Winthrop? Might be the only place in America where the fanbase wouldn't freak out if they took a chance on him.

OU feels like a sneaky good job. You can bring in talent to get to the tournament, but nobody’s going to bitch if you float along in the 5-9 seed range for several years.

OU flirted back and forth with Marshall a couple years back.....why not now?

It's a bit of a reach but I'd love to see them hire Abilene Christian's coach so they can go on and on about hiring a coach who knows how to beat Texas

The argument can be made that OU is, historically speaking, the best program without a national championship. In the 64-to-68-team era, OU has qualified for the tournament 27 out of 36 times -- 15 of them as a 4 seed or better. Three coaches with three distinct styles have taken the Sooners to the Final Four in that span. The resources are excellent. It's a football school, but all things considered, it's probably one of the 20 best jobs in the nation -- without the overwhelming pressure of some other top programs. It's a great job. All things considered, it's a better job than Indiana in this cycle, even though the Big Ten has access to the bottomless revenue reservoir.

Easy suggestion on the women's side: Jackie Stiles. Was on Sherri Coale's staff and already knows the landscape. Goodness knows I think she knows something about the game.

Men's side: Can think of everyone before Gregg Marshall. For all his winning, he's just not worth it.

Had the pleasure of watching her in high school.

    It was unbelievable.

I had the pleasure of being SID for the losing team when Stiles dropped in 33 as Southwest Missouri State kicked our asses, 97-34. (I had to look up all those numbers; I'm not THAT big of a nerd, but close.)

Goodman reporting Shaka Smart is one of the lead candidates at Marquette. Getting out before getting fired?
