As a lifelong 49er fan (Had Brodie jersey!), I’m good with that. They’re trying to win. You’ve got to take chances if you don’t have a Brady to mask everything. More than anything think about how durable he’s been. That gave the Pats the luxury to trade all your picks for more. When you’re starting Nick Mullens and Beatherd, take a shot. I think Lance will be better than Fields. When was last really good OSU QB? Tupa?

    Tupa was good?

    A good punter, maybe.

The funny part is that the 49ers have now also claimed that Jimmy G isn't going anywhere.

So, in addition to the draft pick deals already in motion, so is the gross misinformation ...

2004 draft class was a pretty good one. E Manning, Rivers, Rothlesberger, Larry Fitzgerald, Sean Taylor, Vince Wolfork, Jared Allen.
If one of those QBs goes to the HOF, they all will. Fitzgerald is a HOF. Allen was a 4 time All Pro.

Before all the shit went down, the 49ers probably wanted Watson more than any other team. So they looked to see if there was a QB in the draft that closely resembled a similar skill set. I think that's Trey Lance, but it could be Justin Fields. Either way they could bench either one of them for a year and play Jimmy G. and go from there.

The Niners aren't far away from major contention. If they identified a franchise QB, the only right move was to go for it.

They remind me of a better version of the 2010 Jets. Every part of the team is "win now" except the most important one.

He was awesome at 2-point conversions. Once was the career leader.

There literally has never been a good NFL quarterback from Ohio State, let alone a great one. The one who reached the highest level of mediocrity was probably Mike Tomzcak. This is why I would stay away from Fields, no matter how accurate JC is when he says the past has no bearing on the present. Until a Buckeye QB actually translates to the NFL, I will always believe they are products of their surrounding casts and Little League schedules in college.

If I'm not mistaken, Tom Tupa scored the first 2-point conversion in NFL history.

There’s always the star of the Mean Machine

Art Schlichter, ex-NFL and Ohio State QB, will head to Ohio prison
