And you prove you're not getting the vaccine . . . . how?

Publicity stunt with an offer that will never be honored.

Does anyone think in about a year or so, insurance companies won’t cover extended hospital stays that are COVID-related for those people who refused to get vaccinated?

The vaccines would have to be fully approved, not just on an emergency use authorization. I understand why it has to be that way, but the paperwork I got with my shot today made it sound like it was just a speculative gamble, no more proven than a box of leeches.

These vaccines require a leap of faith.

No. Because despite their name, they don't sell insurance. We did away with the last vestiges of them actually insuring anything and trying to mitigate their risk, with the ACA. They have absolutely no control over what they are allowed to include in a medical care plan (which has little to do with insuring anything now). If there was actual risk involved in their business models, they would care. But they operate in a rationed and subsidized, price-fixed marketplace that tells them services they have to offer and how much meat is left on the bone for them.

OK, but could you see premiums going up for those who choose not to get vaccinated just like it goes up if you are a smoker?

If the Federal government allows it. Same way that insurance companies are only able to charge differential premiums for smokers because the ACA allows it. I have no idea what kind of regulations Congress will ever come up with, so I wouldn't begin to try to handicap it.

The nurse that inoculated me had a band-aid ready to go when she gave me the shot. As soon as she pulled out the needle she said, "Unfortunately you'll need a band-aid. I'm sure the hair removal that happens when you take off the band-aid will be the most painful part of this."

    She wasn't wrong.

fwiw on the pain continuum: blood test-finger prick before donating blood > the stick when you donate blood > getting vaccinated. It was so painless, I really barely felt it. Took less time than donating blood as well. Barely made a dent in my book.
