2020-21 College Basketball thread

Another great offensive show.

 

Oh Jesus that drop off behind the media table looked scary as hell.

 

Oregon State has now won nine straight road/neutral court games, and six straight elimination games. Any loss in the Pac-12 tournament would have kept them out of the tournament, and obviously any loss from there on out sends them home.

I'm as surprised as anyone but these NCAA games have not been fluke wins. They have been ahead almost wire-to-wire, and had a double-figure lead in the second half, in every game. They are shooting about 88% from the line, putting the games away at crunch time.

Yeah, it wasn't attractive, high-flying basketball. But there was a ton of old-fashioned, hard-nosed defense played out there today. The kind that wins NCAA games.

 

Four seconds left. Villanova calls timeout. TV goes to commercial. They come back, and another timeout is called ... and tv goes to commercial again.

Compelling.

 

These two games have been brutal. I think Dean running the four corners without the shot clock would be more compelling.

 

Um, no. Just ... no.

 

Nova proving a pet theory of mine. When you are the underdog doing most everything right and only have a small lead to show for it, an unhappy ending is soon to follow.

 

Loyola-Chicago has Sister Jean. Oregon State has Sara Jean. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

 

The last minute of a college basketball game should not take more than 5 minutes to play
