Actually there are 6 because of the quarter breaks. But also last night the first women's game started about 15 minutes earlier than the Houston-Arkansas game and ESPN used much less time between games than CBS.

20 years later to the week (3/24/01), USC is a #6 seed and makes the Elite 8 only to face the #1. That was a great game.

I don't expect 6-seed USC to beat 1-seed Gonzaga. I like Gonzaga the way I like Boise State football i.e. David dominates like Goliath.

But it would be nice to see USC play in a Final 4 at least once in my lifetime.

Mulkey's been tone-deaf her entire career. And, she looks awful. Like scary awful.

In real time, I thought it wasn’t a foul and that the Baylor player just dribbled into traffic and got hung up. Replays showed otherwise, although it still wasn’t a great shot.

UConn missed the 3 FTs that they should have made and made the one they should have missed. And I have no idea how teams don’t pressure the inbounder when they have to make a very long pass

Turns out Cosmo was right about my Hogs.

One thing about the Tournament this year: Baylor, Gonzaga and Michigan are very clearly the three best teams, so when those last two win tonight, the bracket makers will have done it right.

USC might get obliterated tonight and make me look bad, but I'll say again that based on the way they've played in this tournament the Trojans have looked every bit as good as any of those teams.

Mobley at least gives USC a fighting chance because he's a legit big man and Timme is Gonzaga's main edge on everybody.

It’s a foul that had no or minimal effect on the shot. It wasn’t a bad no-call. Better the game is decided during play than on the free-throw line.

Mobley will be the best player on the court.

The obvious counter to that is for Gonzaga to drive with abandon and accept blocked shots early in the hopes of drawing early Mobley fouls.

Mobley will be the best player on the court, yes. I've been incredibly impressed with Timme's footwork and the way he can finish, especially with the left hand. He's also relentless. Gonzaga can survive him having an off night, they're so deep. USC probably can't survive Mobley having an off night.

Meant 3-point shooting stats. My bad.
