On one hand, it's essentially a new ballpark. It was used for the playoffs but only at limited capacity. This exhibition game was Ranger fans' first chance to see it with the home team on the field. You'd think it would draw more than 12,000 or whatever.
On the other hand, it's an exhibition game. You just don't know what it should draw.
The real home opener will be a better gauge.

 

There are Holiday Inns and Best Westerns in Wisconsin and the U.P. that are likely still emptying dumpsters of Hamm's and Blatz cans and still repairing floorboards damaged by hallway hockey games ... all thanks to our teams' weekend trips decades ago.

Total farce on the part of the MSHSL in its showcase event.
