None of those four will be in that next year either.

I suspect that you know quite well that I didn't expect them to be.

I wonder who here could name the potential field with a high degree of accuracy, say three out of four.

Complete with the old SWC gyms that always seemed to have really dark lighting.

As a kid, I always wondered how they could play basketball at the old MECCA or Cap Centre in DC with such putrid (it appeared) lighting.

I don't think anything short of a draconian "you can't make two trips in a row, no matter how damn good you are" is going to end this monotony any time soon.

I remember watching Baylor games at the old Heart O' Texas Coliseum, which was way across town from campus. It was a great venue for rodeo and professional wrestling, but not college basketball. The dressing rooms for the teams were trailers that were set up on one end of the arena, behind the floor seats.

I caught some UH games at Hofheinz Pavillion, and it seemed dark as well. I'm sure that there have been some improvements as I'm talking about the 1980's, but that comment struck a chord.

Michigan might have showed up to play, but it looked like they forgot how.

Isn't it like that every year. There are a slew of upsets but the Final Four is usually 4 seeds and higher.

There have been 12 5-seed or lower teams in since 2010, and four double-digit seeds (three of those have been No. 11, VCU, Loyola and UCLA). UConn as a 3 in 2011 and 7 in 2014 is the only non-Top 2 seed to win the title in the the last decade.

When is the last time all four teams were from west of the Mississippi River?

Meanwhile, quite the comeback for Stanford's women last night.

Never. Was impossible in the old days when bracketing was strictly by geography (guaranteeing at least one team from back East.)
