Amount of Beard's buyout at Lubbock went down on April 1, hence the timing.

Can't believe he'd leave Ted Lasso.

... and he's jumping the gun.

I find it hard to believe that Hubert Davis left Bristol for nothing. He has been on the bench in Chapel Hill since that move and coaching the JV team - yes, they have one - in preparation.

Wes Miller is part of the family, and has been getting it done at UNC Greensboro for a while.

    There's two, for starters.

That would be a rotten pressure cooker for either one frankly. And while I know your default position is that schools should kiss the feet of any coach they happen to land, Carolina has every right to expect it should be able to attract the very best candidates.

To be the man after The Man is an ugly spot. Chapel Hill owes Bill Guthridge more than it realizes when he took over for Dean Smith.

You know nothing about my "default position." Respect is mutual. Period.

    Pitino? Calipari? Donovan? Brey?

Pitino "claims" he's done with big-time programs.

    Cal? Um, no.

Donovan? Might stick to the NBA. No recruiting there.

Brey? Do you know who he worked for prior to going to South Bend? Mike Krzyzewski. Not happening.

Too crusty. Besides, he's already ghost-chasing. Give someone else a chance in Chapel Hill.

Mike Brey is 14 games under .500 in the ACC the last four years. I think Notre Dame would like him to go out on his own terms, but those terms aren’t “leap to one of the five best jobs in the country.”
