Dodgers are below .500 for the first time since June 2018. (I heard the exact date on the radio but don’t remember what it was).

The Washington Baseball Team wastes no time in reminding us that we are not out of the Trumpandemic just yet.

Funny I come across this little tidbit a few hours after I read a tongue-in-cheek column from Ken Rosenthal, who offers up an "unserious" prediction for each MLB team:

Rosenthal: Completely unserious Opening Day predictions for every MLB team

This is what he had on the Rays:

    6. Tampa Bay Rays: Tyler Glasnow wrestles Kevin Cash to the ground when Cash tries to remove him in the sixth inning of a perfect game in which he has struck out every hitter. Cash scrambles to his feet to signal for a reliever, but the Rays’ outfielders tackle Ryan Sherriff on his way in from the bullpen, and a forfeit is declared.

So we're to the point where there are no active MLB players with a birthdate before 1980, and no active players who played in the 20th Century.

Scott Kazmir didn’t make the team, but I was shocked he tried a comeback with the Giants this spring. Sounds like he’ll take a AAA assignment.

Surprised to see Scott Detwiler pitch for the Marlins today. Thought he was washed up when the Indians gave him a shot in 2016 and again when he was terrible for the White Sox in 2019. Lefties — like Oliver Perez — never die. Perez has actually been pretty good for the Indians the last couple years.

Buster Posey homers in his first AB of the season after sitting out the pandemic season.

The Pirates and Cubs used 15 pitchers in a 5-3, nine-inning game that took four hours to play.

The sane see the problem with this business model moving forward.
