What was baseball ever like if we didn’t know that one player is worth 2.1 wins per year and another is only worth a measly 1.8 wins per year. When it was just Wade Boggs and Tony Gwynn that could foul off pitch after pitch to get a better pitch to hit, it seemed awe inspiring, but now hat every .260 hitter can foul pitches off and work a count the game is so much more exciting
