But isn’t more exciting knowing that the match-ups between pitchers and hitters is now 7% more dramatic than 30 years ago. What was baseball ever like if we didn’t know that one player is worth 2.1 wins per year and another is only worth a measly 1.8 wins per year. When it was just Wade Boggs and Tony Gwynn that could foul off pitch after pitch to get a better pitch to hit, it seemed awe inspiring, but now hat every .260 hitter can foul pitches off and work a count the game is so much more exciting

Or gets traded to Tampa Bay for a guy who’s a frontline starter this year but at that point doesn’t have much in the tank other than a well-polished reputation.

In considering your Posts Against Replacement, it’s probably the only time you’re under PAR

He wasn't even that good that season. Stupid and cheap is no way to run a franchise.

Former MLB exec says Albert Pujols has been lying about his age | Sporting News

(David) Samson said, "There is not one person in baseball, not one executive, who believes Albert Pujols is the age that he says he is. The amount of fraud that was going on in the Dominican back in the day, the changing of names, the changing of birthdays, it would blow your mind."

Pujols drove in the winning run for the Angels last night. Too bad he hurt his team with the RBI ... that won the f**king game.

"Drove" is relative there. He hit a dribbler to third with the bases loaded.

Are we still doing this thing? Like people acting like he's a productive member of a team that has championship aspirations?

    Ay yi yi.
