Wow, I'm surprised. Going from the top dog in Chicago college basketball (admittedly, it's a pro town) to No. 3 in Norman behind football and spring football.

Seems like a good guy. Fine by me if he does well. Still: two NCAA trips in 17 years as a head coach.

Yes, he does seem like a good guy. Of course the most important thing is, two trips to the NCAAs in the last three years, with a FF and E8. It's the ultimate "what have you done for me lately" business. Not sure anyone is winning at Illinois State when he was there, and it looks as if he helped set up Jankovich for a mildly good run. He did have three good seasons at Little Rock.

Final Four and Sweet 16, right? But it sure seemed like everybody had advanced them to another Final Four.

Yeah, Sweet 16, duh, since it was my team that knocked him out. :( I don't think anyone in that pod was beating Houston after Illinois got knocked out.

Duh? Nah. I did the same thing in my head. I had already presumed they had gone farther than they had because their win over Illinois just seemed like it should count for more than one. It was the Schaefer beer of upset wins.

I’m genuinely surprised Porter Moser is going to Oklahoma I figured after Mike Woodson went to Indiana Moser would remain at Loyola

Guess he loved the Big 12 football money more than he loved Chicago. Can't really blame him.

Two tournament runs. It was time to cash in if he was going to, no telling when he could do it again.

I saw Denzel’s big brother and thought Denzel Washington and remembered that Washington’s cousin, Ray, used to be an assistant coach at a community college I covered. Nice guy who had a pipeline to bring players from Detroit to SoCal. He is married to Olympic gold medal sprinter Evelyn Ashford.
