Got the run in, which is all that mattered at that point. Or at any point, really.

Luis Gonzalez is regarded as a World Series hero for a 120-foot RBI popper. At-bats are results-oriented. Getting a run in from third is a good result.

The team with the most runs still wins, right? Or has that aspect passed us dinos by at light speed, too?

You can’t possibly believe this. If he his a scorching line drive and is out, did he choke?

You're supposed to be writing for your readers. They'd rather have you talk to Trout, Pujols and Abreu than the assistant to the assistant data manager. Know your audience, bro.

Simpleton logic. You can’t control what happens after you hit it so the goal is to hit it hard. Is a dribbler up the line a better skill than hitting line drives?

I never thought anything would make @ChrisLong hickey takes look ok. I have now seen his thoughts on baseball and luck.

No, it was luck. You can’t see the difference?

There are plenty of writers who used advanced statistics. I’d rather read that than some tired-ass article filled with cliched athlete quotes that I’ve already read 400 times, bro.

Who said anything about choking, not in anything I wrote.

No one hits line drives in every at-bat. The goal in that situation is to get the runner home from third, by whatever means necessary. He did. It was a good at-bat.

We're just gonna disagree. That's cool.

This is so priceless. He hit a ducking dribbler, not a good at bat, a lucky one.

I guess if he had hit an infield fly that was dropped, it’d be a good at-bat too. Outcome Uber Alles!
