LOL. No outs, one out, two outs. Doesn’t matter. It was a weak dribbler. If he’d bunted and it was mishandled, you’d still be praising the result. Because you’re a fossil and the game has passed you by.

I would not have slobbered down my shirt pretending Albert Pujols just cured cancer, like the Angels announcers did.

I understand announcers are homers and peddle the product pretty much no matter what these days. But don't pretend something that happened is more than it is. They were using Pujols' past to praise his present. I'm not expecting them to admit Albert is washed up, but let's not pretend he's in there for any reason other than an insane contract.

The Braves had to know this was a possibility if the law passed. Did they come out publicly against it?

Delta and Coke were too late to the party but at least they've taken a stand now.

RBI are important to the Marlins new naming partner, loanDepot. They are donating $25 for each RBI in the regular season to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

You left a 20-year old stadium and fled to Cobb County

“We were hoping having the game here would further the discussion.” Of a law that already passed.

    Fuck you.

I'd be more inclined to feel badly for the Braves had they taken the obvious high road and re-nicknamed the team and eliminated the overtly-racist Tomahowk chop when they moved in or out of Turner Field -- or at any time in the past 50 years, since they seemed to have already "missed the opportunity for discussion" about symbolism.

They've been the Red Stockings, Doves, Rustlers, Bees and other things since 1876. What's so special about Braves that can't be changed to something more revelant to Atlanta?

The official scorer rules that an error.

OK, I really didn't want to get in the middle of this argument, and this is just semantics, but I can't stay silent any longer.

Here's a couple of terms from an online baseball glossary I found:

Dribbler: A poorly hit grounder that gains little distance and consists of several hops; sometimes used synonymously with tapper.
Chopper: A chopper refers to a batted ball that immediately strikes the hardened area of dirt directly in front of home plate, causing it to bounce high into the infield.

That second thing is what Pujols did -- he hit it in front of the plate and bounced (once) high enough so Ohtani had time to get home. It didn't "dribble" halfway down the line.
Seriously, if we're going to keep prolonging this, let's at least get the terminology right.

And, no, this RBI was not the most impressive among the over 2,000 that Pujols has had in his career, but it got the job done. And, yeah, the announcers did go a little overboard on it.

EDIT: I see Chris got in the "chopper" reference.
