2020-21 College Basketball thread

    Not a fan. It implies that UCLA was leading at the time the ball hit the backboard.

    I was reminded of Jerry West's 60-footer against the Knicks in the 1970 NBA Final, but it only tied a game the Lakers ended up losing en route to a loss in the series.

    Yeah, I thought about VCU, but it's a huge public school.

    I should have been more concise. I just don't see another private school of similar size ever doing what Gonzaga has done.

    I think UR had a chance to become GU East in the late 1990s, had Beilein stayed, like Few has at GU. UR had built a great NCAA tourney record (for a non-P5 program) under Dick Tarrant at that point, played in an outstanding facility and resources were, or will ever be, an issue.

    Coaching turnover is paramount.
