    JC, I often agree with you, but also often I don't and this is one of those times. A batter who puts the ball in play where the play ends up in a run or runs scored has not failed and almost always is appreciated with by his teammates. Don't you ever see dugouts after a run scores?

    Of course his team wants to win. This is exactly the scenario that shows the flaw in the stat. Not one of you talk about the person who scores the run, it’s all about the guy who hit it so poorly it worked.
