I'm going to say that I can feel your grief and your pain, jumping off of the page, and through the computer screen. No one could help but do so.

You clearly have other, more important matters with which to concern yourself than this thread, or what others may or may not believe, and why, so you should do yourself, and everyone else, a favor, and get off of it for a while. We get your viewpoint.

Does your wife know you post things like this, regularly, on this board? Based on what you say about her, I doubt she would care for it. It also seems unlikely that she'd share your views, as well.

And your last line/contention? No one would ever know it, based on the rest of that post.

Assume for a moment that a the creation of the universe and every atom in it was an intentional act of an intelligence. A universe so vast we have no vocabulary and intelligence to describe it or understand it. Further assume that another 2 planes of existence, heaven and hell, also existence both independent and dependent on the universe we live within.

Now assume even further that the deity responsible for it all and the decision maker of who will reside in heaven or hell, will send anyone to Hell who doesn’t believe that in a microscopic blip of universal history, on a planet among an infinite number of planets, a man named Jesus of Nazareth, was the literal son of that deity. And further, that deity is so insecure and vengeful that one must say, I believe Jesus Christ was literally born and died for every sin man every committed. And you must further state that you believe he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. And you must further believe that you must literally eat his body and drink his blood or you will be denied entry to heaven, without regard to any of standard that may exist.

    That’s some serious bullshit.

I'm not religious. All the best to Abbott's wife.

It’s the religion thread. So we’re talking about it. What’s yours?

You call it bullshit. I call it mental illness.

    Both of us are right.

In that particular instance I, then you, then we, were talking about the existence of a creator, not my religion.

My religion is ... I'm alive, and that's all I need.

TT is not exclusive domain of God's Christianity and to hell with TWDB.

TT is called "Thoughts and Prayers: The Religion Thread" and open to the discussion of religion, and God.

You really have no business telling 'yab to stay off the thread. He's angry. He has a right to be, and he has a right to express it in a discussion of faith and prayer. If you can't handle evidence that prayer does not work, that's your problem. Maybe expressing himself here is part of how he deals with it.

And you are way out of line trying to tell him what his wife would want.

I probably shouldn't tell you your religious business, but it seems very un-Christian to me to reject a person in pain because you don't like the way they express that pain. If I understand Christianity right, the proper thing to do would be to express your sympathy for his wife and for him and move on. The rest is you being pissy because he's daring to question your religion.
