Fortunately there was a man on third who scored, so Gimenez gets an RBI and we now know he is great instead of lousy.

Yeah but how many of those hits are dribblers???

 

Lots of guys will hit a grounder to third just to bring in a run. Hurts their batting average but they get an RBI and eventually a billion-dollar contract and Hall of Fame entry.

 

Braves have lost SPs Smyly and Fried to the IL in a matter of days.

 

No worries; their bats will continue to carry them.
