Two more straight-t0-the-majors guys you wouldn't necessarily guess: Bob Horner and Pete Incaviglia (Incaviglia did play in the minors later in his career when he was on the down slope).

As a kid, I always imagined Pete Incaviglia worked a second job at the steel mill on the night shift. Definitely didn’t seem look the part of the golden child prospect.

Incaviglia's college career was pretty insane, even factoring in aluminum bats and whatever he might have been doing to add bulk. As a senior he hit .464 and slugged 1.140 with 48 homers in 75 games, most of that against legitimate Big 8 competition.

He actually did -- he had a rehab assignment late in his career that consisted of 10 at-bats

I think it was Bill Conlin who described Pete Incaviglia's defensive skills as "a dancing bear on roller skates chasing a fly ball with a butterfly net." As I visualize that, the description is fairly accurate...

Speaking of dancing bears in the outfield, Incaviglia once sold a Porsche to Jose Canseco.

Olerud did play in the minors, on injury rehab very late in his career. He was supposedly the oldest player ever to make his minor-league debut.

I don't remember who said/wrote it, but my favorite quote about him was "Cocky? Cocky looked at Incaviglia and blushed!"
