Phils start bottom-4 by getting runners on 2nd and 3rd thanks to Segura's 200th career double.

Gausman escapes by striking out the 7th and 8th batters with nasty shit then getting the pinch-hitter to ground out.

    Inside those 2 strikeouts:

The 7th batter was Mickey Moniak in his 10th career at-bat; now 0 for 10.

The 8th batter was Nick Maton in his 2nd career at-bat; now 0 for 2.

But the beauty was how hard Gausman owned them. Beautiful pitching.

He fell behind 2-0 to the pinch-hitter but threw a strike then got the grounder.

Talk about some shitty RBI-batting or lack thereof.

Right, and that added to the hilarity of the inning.

Perhaps the Giants will issue a joint statement on behalf of Tito Fuentes and Cody Ross when they are passed on the list.

I know baseball has problems. Not sure how they get fixed, and the looming labor dispute that is sure to lead to a work stoppage is setting up to be a 1994-style disaster.

But, I’ve found myself watching more baseball than I have in a long time. Not just the laundry I root for but many other games too.

Numbers can be diced up and made to say whatever your viewpoint might be. But this seems good for baseball:

Makes you wonder if Trumpists are adhering to the gospel and boycotting as their klan hath commanded.

For the next two months, the only teams allowed to chant “beat LA” will be San Diego and San Francisco, and it will only be used in the ninth inning at home when winning.

    And it is encouraged.
