Probably knew he was ending his career too, as the rank and file will do everything possible to sabotage him. That’s a real man.

Defense attorneys and the ACLU spent a decade or more demanding that defendant’s statements be a audio and video taped to show how the police abused defendants into confessing and how they lied about giving the Miranda warning. Within a year of mandatory record statements defense attorneys were seeking a suppress it because the video made their clients look bad. When police first had dash camera, defense attorneys were thrilled, now they hate them. Body cameras? Real Defense attorneys hate them for 95% of their clients. Cops get used to it, criminals hate the video.

Except for the fact that in so many of these cases, one recently in Columbus, Ohio comes to mind, the police have turned off their cameras. There are criminals in America, and they get arrested. But there are bad cops in America and I think that's worse because that is powered by the state.

Makes you wonder why cops are so quick to turn off their body cams and try and stop people from filming them.

The ones that turn it off were problems from the start. And you trying to do your job with some pain in the civilian screaming at you and simultaneously recording you.

No argument. Cops with god complexes, bullies and assholes. You should be fired if you intentionally turn your body cam off during an active call for service.
And based on the statistics for every POS cop there are 1000 POS criminals, maybe 2000:1. Maybe 3000:1. It’s doesn’t make the 1 justifiable in any way. But if the citizens of Chicago got as mad when 1 civilian shoots another as when 1 cop does it, you could defund the police and never notice it.
