Can’t imagine NBC giving up that easily.

So ... which Detroit player, current or former, was on the grassy knoll?

With no NBCSN, they may have lost their appeal. Too bad, they've done a good job.

This is Jeff Blashill's sixth season as coach of the Red Wings, and even with the loser point making such a thing nearly impossible, his record is 170-220-59. I honestly think the front office just doesn't care. Yzerman, and before him, Ken Holland, probably figures this roster was going to finish 14th in the East whether it was coached by Toe Blake or a trained macaque, so let's stay with the one we've got.

Speaking of the loser point, the Red Wings got to overtime despite getting outshot 41-6 by Dallas in the first 40 minutes (and they were winning 1-0 after 2!) That has to be the least deserved point in the Bettman loser point era.

He is a Philadelphia goaltender, after all.

    THAT'S THE GLOW PUCK'S MUSIC!

Seriously, I can imagine that. With NBC trashing NBCSN they don't need these day-to-day events on weeknights, whereas this would be great inventory to try and push folks to Fox Sports 1. Honestly mad I didn't think of it earlier. And Kenny Albert probably is a shoo-in for that lead gig.

Blashill has been there long enough I fear his players tune him out on occasion
I think Yzerman would rather wait until they’re closer to contention but he might have to act sooner
Lots of talk about Gallant but I would think he’d rather go to a contender
Lane Lambert is a name I’ve heard

They ditched soccer, too. So now they have, what, golf, some NASCAR (?) and Notre Dame football? And maybe not even the Olympics if Japan can't get its shit together.

And Sunday night football. But yeah, slim pickings.

Bob McKenzie saying that CBS/Turner, not Fox, is the mystery network(s) bidding for the other half of the NHL package.

"Ernie, the Red Wings are turble."

Though as much as I love Ernie Johnson's entire thing, Turner should go for the 180 and have a bunch of opinionated white dudes, and to host, Chance the Rapper's character from the "Let's Do That Hockey" sketch.
