I have followed Patrick Skinner on Twitter for a couple of years now. He's a bright guy with an analytical mind. He is a retired CIA field operative who returned to his native Savannah and became a street cop on the beat, and later a homicide detective. He tweets about his life on the street as a cop and about his dogs and cats at home. Personally, I find the guy well worth a follow, and urge you to consider doing so.

He wrote an editorial on policing that was published in the WaPo today.

    The Republican sandwich:

    Beacon
    Lies
    Treason

Slip of the tongue. Scott meant to say "beacon of white."

I’m frankly surprised that a majority of Republicans said yes.

I wonder if a second question about the jury intimidation bullshit the right wing media was peddling was asked, too.

This was not a hard case for a jury. It just wasn’t. I think they deliberated for such a short amount of time because it was pretty obvious that he was guilty of everything that was on the table - watch the tape, see the truth - and there wasn’t much to deliberate over.
