Anyone switch from Dish to DirectTV?

So Dish has lost my regional sports network and from an insider the chances of any resolution are almost nil. I can go without my teams for a little while but not permanently and wifey has said its ok.

I love my sports and the DVR, that's the whole point of it IMHO.

Any thoughts?

 

You're protected by federal law. The HOA can't do a thing about it.

 

Anyone know what the steps are to removing the Dish stuff and then going to Direct TV? Does Dish come and get their stuff?

 

@qtlaw , i am in the exact situation. I left direct tv 2 years ago in September. I like dish. I had no idea they didn't have the regional sports packages (Fox Sports west and prime ticket, Now Bally's).
I am leaving when my two year contract is up in September.

 

I had DirecTV for 15+ years. Price changes were whack for about half of 2019, kept changing every month. Went to streaming around Christmas that year. Kept it for more than a year, until the whole Fox Sports West/Prime Ticket situation occurred. Switched to Cox Cable. I have everything except Dodgers. Not missing them.

 

Put DirecTV in the cabin in 2007 for $39.95/month because cable doesn't reach our neighborhood. Finally gave up on it around 2017(?) for Sling and then Hulu.

Two reasons:

1. BIG SAVINGS: The price of their package that included SPEED/Golf Channel (which I needed for work) almost tripled in price over that 10 years. I think I was paying $109.99 at the end. Sling was $25 a month for whichever package I chose.
2. BAD SIGNAL: The primary satellite is so low on the horizon in our area that any time we had a heavy rainstorm, wind or even a slight breeze, the box wouldn't access the signal because the trees on the southwest corner of the cabin grew up higher than I could relocate the dish. That was the same issue for my neighbor, who also switched.
