    Schedule it before an off-day. Schedule it and tell the manager you want the next day off. Everyone gets a rest day here and there.

    In every sport I umpired or officiated, our instructors always said the same thing: "Don't make waves in calm waters." In other words, don't go looking for shit just to prove how smart you think you are.

    So much here.
    1) Alomar doesn’t forcefully deny anything. Says he hopes for a venue to tell his side of the story. Ok, pal. You can have that. Sue your accuser for defamation and see where that leads. I’m gonna guess he won’t be doing that.
    2) MLB seems pretty sure he’s guilty.
    3) Alomar was both a consultant to MLB and an advisor for the Jays? Conflict of interest anyone?

    The Brewers are a walking wounded crew with nearly 15 guys on the IL or out and are 16-10. The pitching has been sick.
