Also, how many guys who just had an outstanding sophomore year are going to decide to shut it down in August and go straight to the training facility their agent signs them up for? NCAA gotta be sweating a little right now with so many opt-outs going so high.

Finally ... an offensive player is selected in the NFL Draft during the Matt Rhule era.

And it's a kid who played for Joe Brady in Baton Rouge. Between former LSU players for Brady and Temple players for Rhule ...

 

Also a kid who opted out the week of the Alabama game last year. Quitters quit.

 

So the Bears (hopefully) get their QB and RT for the next decade. On its face, Pace didn’t fuck up.

I don’t quite understand people saying Gettleman got a haul for No. 11. It only cost the Bears an extra 1 to move up 9 spots for a franchise QB. The Niners gave up three 1sts to move up 9 spots for a franchise QB.

Different picks, I know, but still ...

 

Business decision.

 

So a QB from a school that can’t produce NFL QBs to a franchise that can’t develop them.

I think the Bears did well here, worth what they gave up.
