All-Purpose Fantasy Baseball 2021 running thread

Ouch. Your league really needs a UT spot. I would keep Turner in there. Bichette is going to have the occasional big day and make you cringe, but overall, I trust Turner a lot more. I might just leave Guerrero in, too. I think he is taking the step forward.

Of course, I've got Bichette and Alonso in there every day in our league, but I don't have Turner and Guerrero as options.

 

I just got a trade offer in my money league. This is a 14-team league, so it runs pretty deep.

Alex Dickerson ($1) and Richard Rodriguez ($6) for Marcus Stroman ($6) and prospect Sam Huff ($1). We are able to keep eight veterans and five minor leaguers each year, so Huff might be the player in the deal with the best chance of being kept. He had a good shot to start at some point this season, but injuries have probably ruined that, so he could be a keeper in a minor-league spot.

I'm more focused on this season. I don't have a dominant ace, but I have some pitching depth with Dustin May, Tyler Mahle, Luis Castillo, Eduardo Rodriguez, Jake Junis, Jose Urquidy, and Kwang Hyun Kim. I've actually got to be careful about going over our innings limit, so I can afford to give up Stroman.

Am I nuts in thinking that even in a very deep league, Dickerson doesn't have much value? Rodriguez seems to be more of a draw for me. Thoughts?

 

Dickerson is only owned in 15 percent of Yahoo leagues, so you’re not alone. If you need saves maybe try to pry someone better than Dickerson or even do Stroman for Rodriguez straight up.

 

We do have a UT spot but Yordan Alvarez is usually there unless hurt, sick or no game.

Guerrero is really pushing forward now. Losing that weight seems to have helped.

 

I think that is where we are most likely to land. My need for outfield help in that league isn't as bad now that I'm getting Kepler back. He's at least a decent fourth guy in that league.

 

I pulled the trigger but waited long enough that the trade won’t process until Sunday, so I’ll get Snell’s start tomorrow.

The trade offer to me was pulled before I got to answer. I'm assuming he saw that Stroman left yesterday's start early with a tight hamstring. I was going to turn it down, anyway, but there goes my shot to counter, at least until Stroman shows he is healthy.

 

Sometimes I really hate fantasy baseball. My money league team was dead last two weeks into the season. Even though I'm still without a bunch of key guys, especially Bellinger and Hayes, my team has been surging into contention the last few weeks. I was gaining even more ground today, but I just saw the pitch that ended Dustin May's night and possibly his season. The Dodgers were babying the kid, but he had been absolutely dominant so far this season. It really did not look good.

Ouch.

No, he winced in pain and immediately called for the trainer after throwing a pitch. Just the reaction alone looked like it was bad.

The Dodgers aren't being very specific so far.

I'm digging for information on Realmuto's wrist injury. Catcher has been a weak spot for me, and the guy in last place is looking to deal veterans for young guys or prospects who aren't far off from the majors.

I was thinking of offering William Contreras, Josh Naylor, and prospect Drew Waters for Realmuto and Matz. (I need strikeouts, too.)
