This is what Michigan State has been reduced to. “Rutgers, but make it sadder.”

Seriously. This hung in the LA Rams draft house. (Draft house?)

    Parma? Van Wert? Wapak? Coshocton?

You guys are missing the Ohio city that chair is actually headed to.

    Canton.

I read a really good article on The Athletic about grading the Steelers draft and it might get a low grade overall, but what they did with their picks with what was in the board makes you like at their draft a lot differently.

If they went o-line with their first two picks, they get shitty RB and TE. Now, they got arguably the best RB, second-best TE, possibly, and a solid OL who fits what they do in the third. Tackle taken in the fourth is a who knows. Everything past the third is a who knows.

I really liked the way they did that.

They pointed out Pittsburgh knew a RB was not going to be there in the second and they knew a TE wasn’t going to be there in the third, but there would be linemen.

The best season by a rookie running back last year was an undrafted free agent.

Actually, the narrative on the possibility that the Jags will sign Tebow in the local media has been, "what the hell could a 34-year-old, 6-2 tight end do for the team?" and there was some criticism for whoever in the Tebow camp leaked the story on draft-day afternoon. A lot of talk-radio callers and social media postings ripped Tebow for trying to steal the oxygen on draft day away from Lawrence. Tebow could have had longer career in the league if he had agreed to some kind of H-back situation six years ago, instead of being stubborn about thinking he could play QB. This whole thing seems to be a bit of a pathetic attempt to maintain his status as the Prince of Jacksonville with Lawrence coming to town. If Trevor is all that, Tebow will be remembered fondly but he won't have the crown. People have to remember that a good portion of Jags fans are FSU and Georgia fans, who other programs, or not college fans at all, and they have no particular loyalty or love for Tebow.

I'd also add that there is probably a pretty significant gap between the sixth offensive lineman, which the Steelers could have chosen, and one later in the draft. And an offensive lineman helps more than a running back when it comes to the passing game and passing protection. It's just kind of weird to me how locked into RB the Steelers got.

Arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history was drafted in the sixth round. Forget Trevor Lawrence. Sam Ehlinger is headed to the Hall of Fame!

I don't think it was the position at all. I think they were locked in on Harris.

Donnie Shell was an undrafted free agent and the draft had more rounds back then, but he ended up in the Hall of Fame. Teams shouldn't draft safeties!

Don't draft edge rushers, either! James Harrison wasn't drafted, and he was the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year once!

Okay, seriously, I do get the point. The Steelers liked Harris better than whatever tackle they liked best at that point. I would have rather seen them take the tackle there and Creed Humphrey in the second round, but I do understand their thinking.

Your point is taken, but by the same logic, the best quarterback of all time was a sixth-round pick ...
