This was always going to be what happened with these pig fuckers. It’s what they do every time.

He will. PSS is aware he won't make money off the LAT and selling his shares to Alden is, in his own words from a few weeks ago, "supporting the LAT."

Alden offered $17.25 a share in cash, making Soon-Shiong’s Tribune stake worth about $150 million.

“Local newspaper brands and operations are the engines that power trusted local news in communities across the United States,” said Heath Freeman, president of Alden Global Capital in a statement. “The purchase of Tribune reaffirms our commitment to the newspaper industry and our focus on getting publications to a place where they can operate sustainably over the long term.”

Not saying Alden made BANG journos miss Dean Singleton, but I will say there are a lot fewer of them who could in theory miss Singleton and the rest haven't been around long enough to know who he was.
I'd love for Congress to pass a tax law that would discourage companies from loading debt onto a new acquisition that the acquisition had no role in accruing.

Lean Dean is The Godfather who begat Heath Freeman snd Alden. Dean started the whole consolidation craze and his attempts to rewrite his destructive actions are insulting and ludicrous. Dean Singleton was a blight on local news coverage and he and Dick Scudder rank right up there with Bob Jelenic in journalism infamy.
