There's a coffee shop chain in Rhode Island who's owner insists that the TVs be set to FOX News - even when he was told by workers at the one closest to a college campus that sales were down 20 percent because of it. Fun times.

    Whatever happened to Robin Meade?

Oh, and the restaurants around here (before the pandemic) usually had cooking shows on, to remind people they are hungry.

Lots and lots and lots of public places in the South have their TVs tuned to Fox News (or at least did, I haven’t really been hanging out in many lobbies or restaurants over the past year.) The one that truly grates on me is the overhead TV at my county tag office.

It’s getting harder to find an agreeably “safe channel that won’t leave some segment of the public up in its feelings though. Any sports channel gets the anti-BLM folks on edge. Weather Channel talks about global warming sometimes and that raised hackles.

The clinic I was at yesterday went with MeTV, which might be the last inoffensive choice left.

Gotta be tough to be a Trumpist sports fan these days.

And yet the ones in my life magically know everything thats going on. (Props to my father-in-law, at least he's given up the pretense of no longer paying attention b/c the athletes don't know their place. It was all for show)

The cable TV in the motel in McLean Texas had Fox but not CNN.

Nice move, WWL. Thing is, it's an easy explanation for them. Mayne's humor was so top-shelf that the minions didn't understand him.

Still, our loss. Thanks for everything, Kenny.

(And no, I am not Kenny. Don't insult him like that.)

I mean, Mayne would probably go way more esoteric with a screen name, like Hardy Brown 25. :)

There was a local taqueria that had amazing breakfast burritos -- not quite the best I've found here in the St. Charles metropolitan area, but the best within shouting distance of a place where I do a lot of my work. But they kept the TVs on Fox News. Finally, after roughly 10 visits, usually at least once a week, I asked whether they would consider putting the TV on another station. They declined, citing the owner's prerogative. I haven't set foot in there again. The notion of foot traffic in a restaurant dropping because of Fox is real. Considering I spent $11 a meal and went roughly four times every three weeks until I stopped 3.5 years ago, I would have probably spent $2,500 in there between now and then. But hey, what's money when you can jam Tucker Carlson down people's throats?

I was in a hospital room visiting someone recently that didn't even have MSNBC or CNN. Just Fox.
