Phillies are on their 4th in last 110 years or so. Red Sox on their second in 118 years.

That would be a bummer for Oaktown, having lost Raiders and Warriors already.

But the Coliseum stinks nowadays, especially with the ill-advised Raider "improvements" that just killed the baseball vibe. The downtown scenario looks great but I highly doubt it can progress with the $$ they are talking about (over $1B in public improvements alone).

They're going all-in with Howard Terminal, it seems. And like you point out, not only are the numbers mind-numbing, it's an environmental and traffic disaster waiting to happen. A new yard on the current Coliseum site still feels like the best option. Lots of parking, plus freeway access and a BART station on your back porch.

Yes! Then it was an event during the season all at once. They even had inter league as a season opener recently. Opening day isn't special enough that they had to make it inter league also? At least I don't have to listen to Suzyn W. say and now the 'inTRA" league scores.

Tigers have played in two stadiums since 1912 or so.

So, the Coliseum site was OK for the A's for the last 55 years, but a brand-new stadium at the same site - with the same excellent parking and BART access - doesn't work? What a load of happy horseshit.

If it really had the players best interests in mind, the MLBPA would encourage them all to get vaccinated ASAP. And of course if they have, my bad.

His JonBenet Ramsey theory is where I stopped paying attention.

Does any franchise have more diverse names that the Padres? I'll take Jurickson and raise you Tucupita and Nabil.

Tatis tested positive for COVID-19 and is asymptomatic, Dennis Lin of The Athletic tweets. Profar and Mateo are in contact tracing. To fill their open roster spots, the Padres selected the contract of outfielder John Andreoli and recalled a pair of players – infielder/outfielder Tucupita Marcano and righty Nabil Crismatt – per a club announcement.

3:34pm: The Padres announced that they have placed shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. and utilitymen Jurickson Profar and Jorge Mateo on the injured list because of Major League Baseball’s health and safety protocols. They’ll decide on corresponding moves before their game against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Pretty sure you were closer to home plate in the front row of the upper deck than second base was.
