I don't get why we can't seem to understand the simple fact that we agree on one issue with someone on the other side. It is a big freaking issue at that. But it does not mean that we agree on other things. I just truly don't understand the reluctance to say that we can agree on one thing but at the same time it doesn't mean we are all in on everything else they believe. I just can't understand it.

Cheney removed but Chris Wray still employed. You can't make this up.

    Wait, yes you can!

The idea was they want to be totally down the middle and if they are not voting then it is one less thing to color their reporting. Different than golfing.

You are not totally down the middle if you don't vote. You are a poor citizen, and I don't think poor citizens make good reporters. Suppose such a reporter breaks stories on his state's Senator or Governor committing crimes. Then he or she doesn't vote against them in the next election? Saying "I don't vote because I want to be impartial" is in effect saying, "I can't trust myself to be impartial otherwise. In reality, it is a way for the reporter to say, "I am superior to all humans in the grubby business known as politics."

Not voting doesn't make you impartial.

Reporting something without allowing predispositions to influence your reporting makes you impartial.
