Did you think he’d hit 450 all year?

Of course not, but I didn't expect such a quick drop. And I wondered if Pujols' release affected Trout. They sorta coincide.

I look forward to Pujols pinch-hitting into a rally-killing, 8th inning, game six double-play in the Bronx in November.

Yeah, my first thought is he'll be a great situational hitter for them -- if the situation is there's one out, a man on first, and they have a flight to catch.

Castellanos signed a 4 year / $64,000,000 contract with the Reds, including $64,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $16,000,000. This year he will earn a base salary of $14,000,000. He has earned almost $44 million in his career.

Yeah, that Rob Manfred is a bad guy.

Be grateful for your money, peon!

And I have no idea Rob Manfred's worth as a human being. But he's a shitty commissioner.

Nick Castellanos' salary has nothing to do with why Manfred is the worst, by far, baseball commissioner of my lifetime, a lifetime that includes Ford Frick, Bowie Kuhn, and Peter Ueberroth.

The owners and administrators are assholes too. But as I said earlier, everyone is doing so well negotiations on the new CBA should take about five minutes. But they will both find a way to screw it up and further piss off an already-eroding fan base.

And Manfred being a crappy commissioner has in no way hurt Castellanos's ability to make an insane amount of money. There is no reason at all for an average player like Castellanos making $16 million a year to be angry at him.
