At least it still provokes emotion for you. Watching the Preds tonight felt like showing up at the wake of a friend from college and realizing once you got there you hadn’t even been close in quite a while.

Feels like they need a complete overhaul. Poile all of a sudden seems very stale.

Whalercanes have to learn to stay out of the box. I don't want to be around when Roman Josi re-discovers his scoring touch.

Sorry, man. Double OT is tense enough, and if your team lose the game, it's deflating. That particular kind of goal is just crushing, though.

Just like the team, you have to put it behind you and move onto game 3 now. Plenty of hockey left in that series.

    Game 4. They're down 2-1.

I made it to 65 without dying. I don't want that team to finish me off.

The Bruins lost Game 2 of the 2011 Final on a similarly deflating OT goal, Alex Burrows on a wraparound that Tim Thomas definitely wanted back. That put the Bruins down 2-0, but obviously didn’t sink them.

Yeah, I meant game 4. Sorry. When I posted that, I was sitting there way past my bedtime. ... I had the hockey game on a TV, Corey Kluber pitching a no hitter on one computer monitor, some work on another computer monitor, and toothpicks in my eyes. It was overload, but in a good way. :)

How long will he be suspended this time?

Is he considered a repeat offender? The NHL is pretty forgiving in wiping the slate clean, which is bizarre.

Colorado seems to have the series in hand, which shouldn't matter, but it will make it easier to discipline him.

    Very much a repeat offender.

It only counts for 18 months. Had he had a suspension since 2019 playoffs?

This will be his third in four postseasons. If that doesn’t count toward repeat offender status, then that’s another reason the NHL’s disciplinary system is a fucking joke.
