I’m certainly not pretending to be a MLB coach/expert, I’m just pointing out the “pitching is different” so hitting is down analysis is one sided. Yes pitching velocity is up, but hitting talent is similarly changing, it’s not stagnant.

What I wonder about is, when evaluating your team, to what extent should we be taking the pitching success with a grain of salt.

The funny thing is that people who inject this into conversations never realize that 90 percent of the stuff they spout in life also applies to this.

And are intolerable to sit next to at the bar.

This is a conversation the best minds in baseball are going back and forth on. Let people discuss it, cop.

"Nolan Ryan threw hard, and Greg Maddux changed speeds, why can't today's players be as good?" ain't exactly scintillating conversation.

If he stays in Seattle he'll have two or three more this season.

A position player pitched to a relief pitcher in the Giants rout of the Reds today. LaRussa just exploded.

You compare what your pitchers are doing against the rest of the league at time. You can't compare 1975 with 1985 with 2015.
The pitchers are really good; just not as many innings.

The hitters are still really good, but their approach to hitting is destroying certain aspects of the game.

And yet very few of them do it.

This from the guy who has made an industry of lampooning teachers who rape children. I guess we all have our corners, eh, Poin?
