I love Jason Day's game but his back issues have him going the way of Fred Couples; throwing in a nice 18 here or there but no chance for a win. To say any more that he's a notable missing the cut is being generous, unfortunately

Which sucks. One of the really decent guys. Worked at a place where a columnist talked to him once. Columnist thanked him for his time. Jason Day thanked him for taking the time to talk to him.

Need more of those sorts. Hope his back issues clear up. Bigger problem is he wants to work on his game and get back to No. 1 ... which means he can't give his back the rest it probably needs.

Still strange seeing players take practice swings and making contact with the sand. Since there are no bunkers, grounding clubs there is not a penalty.

This tournament is almost making up for not having an Open Championship last year. The sea air and the layout feels like links golf. The occasional palm reminds us that it's still South Carolina.

Agreed this is a very cool venue on TV; seriously makes me want to make the trip to SC. Great selection PGA.

Just glad I don't have to play this course. Not only because it's difficult and I was never exactly Gary Player in the bunkers, but also the Viktor Hovland close-up out of the sand zoomed in. The sand in there is like what is typical of beaches in the region (North and South Carolina, at least). Lots of stuff in there and it's not pure sand.

I wonder if there's some money to be made refinishing irons for those who don't want to dole out big money for set after set. As gritty as that stuff looked, the heads could wear out before the grips.

Brooks is winning, how does that approach on 13 not go in the water? I haven't seen a shot right of the flag there stay dry. Great two pairings, Brooks group and Bryson groups back to back.

Played this morning with a guy from my senior league and his wife. He's played Kiawah and said, "those holes on TV don't look like I remember them." I told him. "Well. you have to remember, they're playing from places hundreds of yards away from where you were."

Pack extra balls. If the wind is up, it’s not a lot of fun for most.

Golf or no golf, the South Carolina Lowcountry is one of the places I could absolutely move to if circumstances allowed.

10-13 at the Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach is high on my list as one of the most enjoyable four-hole stretches anywhere.

Great tournament so far and this venue is fantastic and should be in the PGA rotation every five to seven years.

Would love to see Looooooie win this week; what a sweet swing rhythm and seems like a very fun dude.

I still find it fascinating that even at 7800+ yards, a 50 year old is tied for the lead.
