B-b-b-b-b-but I was told it wasn't going to be a series.

I think it will. If the Whalercanes don't slow down the processional to the box, that only increases the chances.

If they lose, will you stop calling them the Whalercanes??

Tampa Bay took Florida in the deep water and drowned them Saturday, but Kucherov and Sergachev got injured due to some late-game goon shit. Anthony Duclair might sit....needs to sit a few games for his role. The Hornqvist hit on Sergachev was weak sauce, but it wasn't egregiously dirty.

I've always thought that nickname was ridiculous. Carolina stole the Whalers from Hartford. They don't get to appropriate the nickname, too.

Were they only playing in the commonwealth previously?

The networks of NBC ignored Game 1 but I would have seen it on CBC if I still lived in Detroit

Huh. I thought it was on USA but a cursory check looks like it was just on NHL Network. Maybe I was thinking of Oilers-Jets.

This is typical of Nashville. They have always played up or down to the competition, which is why they sometimes lose games that should have been easy wins. In series, they will turn into figure skaters until it gets critical and then pull themselves out of that rut at the 11th hour. Sometimes it works.

This is just one of many addled-pated ideas I have about the way things work in Nashville.

Nashville has never come back from an 0-2 deficit, but it also has never gone down 0-3 in a series. The wonders of small sample sizes.

Speaking of small samples, based on the first 3 minutes, Nashville is really pressing the pace in this one.
